J I Staley, a Wichita Falls magnate, was arrested by customs Captain W L Barler in Sanderson country for possession of liquor. A car search found 13 pints of whiskey and Mexican cigarettes. Staley posted $500 cash bond in Del Rio via United States Commissioner Smith. The government holds the La Salle vehicle.

Mexican Boy Dies When Truck Overturns on Eagle Pass Road
Alfonso Jiminez a Mexican youth about 19 was killed when his truck rolled over Sunday afternoon on the Eagle Pass road southeast of the city. Dennis Hays and Mr Coe saw the crash and freed him. The steering wheel crushed his chest and he died at Williams Sanitarium. His remains were prepared for burial by Velasco East Del Rio undertaker. An other boy in the truck escaped unharmed.
