Mrs Johanna Anderson Peterson Dies After Long Illness
Mrs Johanna Anderson Peterson age 83 died after a brief illness at the residence of her daughter Mrs Ed Bastian in DeKalb. She was born December 3 1814 in Halland Sweden came to the United States in 1875 and lived in DeKalb 55 years. Survived by L A Pierce C A Peterson grandchildren and great grandchildren. Previous spouse Mr B A Peterson died April 9 1916. Mrs Peterson suffered a paralytic stroke three years ago and remained active until recent illness.

Duvall Denies Offering Municipal Posts for Pay
Indianapolis on Sept 19 Mayor John L. Duvall testified from the witness stand that he did not promise to permit William H. Armitage to name three municipal appointees in exchange for 14500. He admitted receiving money from Armitage but said it was not for any promise and later returned. Armitage had offered 15000 to back Duvall’s campaign. Duvall met him again at former Mayor Lew Shank’s home to discuss the matter. He denied any pledge to appoint the two Board of Works members and the city engineer.

Paris Sees Big Parade in Peace Time Army March

Freight Train Strikes Car Killing Two Near Libertyville
A Chicago Outer Belt Line freight train struck an automobile south of Libertyville today, killing two occupants. Mrs. EB Manning of Chicago died instantly, and her husband EB Manning also perished. The couple were traveling from Genoa City, Wisconsin, to Chicago, en route to Fiets Foy Furs.
