Ward was struck by a Janesville train while crossing the Tenth street crossing this noon. He was thrown to the tracks and severely injured with internal concerns suspected. Taken to hospital, his condition was reported serious as crowds gathered, aid given by mill workers before ambulance arrived.
Health officer Dr J B Hagey reports no contagion in the city and notes a sharp drop in whooping cough after recent rains. Sanitary conditions are improving and overall city health is better than in prior years.
