Genoa road paving to resume near Illinois Central crossing
Grading has started on the Genoa stretch leading to the Illinois Central railroad crossing with paving expected to resume soon. Cash Fairclo of Urbana, formerly of this city, holds the contract and has machines on site. The project aims to cover the route to Marengo and beyond with a cement surface and a modern viaduct at Genoa to reduce grade crossing accidents, improving access for Sycamore and other areas while boosting local commerce.
