Death at DeKalb sanitarium patient John Rukaviana

The first death at the DeKalb county sanitarium occurred this morning. John Rukaviana aged 11 died after tuberculosis following influenza. He was born in Wisconsin in 1904 and moved to DeKalb six years ago with his parents. Survived by father mother and sister Mary. Funeral tomorrow at the Catholic church with interment in the Catholic cemetery.

Washington May 20 Democrats gain tax on stock dividends in the Republican soldier bonus bill. The tax proposal passed the ways and means committee 15 to 12 with only 3 Republicans joining.
