Local man Claus Johnson dies by suicide after long illness
Claus William Johnson 66, a wire drawer for American Steel and Wire in DeKalb, died at Passavant Hospital Chicago after a year of illness from injuries suffered last May. He had three broken ribs and wore a heavy cast, discouraging him as his wife recovered from a hip injury. He leaves wife Emma and daughters Signe Kampschroer and Ed Carlson, plus three grandchildren. Funeral services Tuesday at Nelson-Rowan chapel conducted by Rev A G Eklund. Burial at Fairview Cemetery.
