Fire of uncertain origin, likely incendiary, destroyed the dance pavilion at Electric Park shortly after midnight. Manager Robert Murphy and Louis Lee investigated after being roused by a dog's bark, calling Groves family, nearby residents, and fire departments from Sycamore and DeKalb. The blaze gutted the stage area with machinery stored under it and caused estimated losses of Murphy over 2000 dollars, Groves about 4500 dollars, and total building loss around 6000 dollars. Bloodhounds were requested from Rock Island to locate the responsible party.
