John Pokosa, a Rockford tailor, is jailed on murder charges for killing his son in law Gordon L. Saaf after Saaf and Pokosa’s daughter Estelle eloped against Pokosa’s religious objections. Washington May 5 The Supreme Court unanimously held that selling bottles and other liquor equipment to enable unlawful liquor manufacture is barred under the Volstead act. Justice Holmes said the term manufacture includes the entire process of preparing goods for sale and that empty containers sold to aid illegal production may be seized. The court also granted a review of double internal revenue tax cases involving unlawful liquor dealers.
