Fire at Rochelle Lincoln Garage destroys cars and property

A large blaze at Rochelle's Lincoln Highway Garage late Thursday night caused extensive damage estimated in the thousands. Firefighters confined the fire to the garage, sparing nearby Standard Oil and Deyon-Rayne Lumber yards. Several cars, including a Packard sedan owned by Colman and a Peerless sedan bought by Moss Anna Turkington, were ruined. One Nash was the lone car destroyed after its owner was arrested for speeding.

DeKalb Tax Burden Figures Revealed in Aurora Division

Found Dead Lying Across Trunk In Home

Gy United Press reports a woman found dead across a trunk in a home after a gas explosion. The room was filled with gas from unlit jets. the earlier ashes of a husband’s cremation appeared in a rank in the same area. The woman died before help arrived. Mrs Julia Thomas Listy a 47 year Mayfield township resident died this noon at her son Floyd’s home after a seven week illness. Sterling to discontinue passenger train service soon

One week from tonight the Sterling passenger train will make its last trip and the accommodation train service will end by March 36.
