He chaired the 1978 state Republican convention and was a leading political figure. His widow accompanied his body to Danville for funeral services.

Injured In Fall Saturday At Postoffice
Manley Concidine fell from the postoffice delivery platform Saturday afternoon while backing out of a doorway with mail. He suffered a severe wrist sprain, initially feared to be a break, treated by a surgeon and X rayed at a hospital. He will be off duty for a time.

Death ends good life in South Grove area
William R. K. Adee, longtime South Grove resident and farmer born October 17, 1856 in the Tl Notts prairie district, died at his home Saturday night at about 7:30 from heart disease. Funeral services will be held at his farm home in South Grove tomorrow at 2:00 PM with burial in South Grove cemetery. Rev. Ake of the Malta church will preach. Adee, 73, spent most of his life in DeKalb, Malta, and Denver, loved farm life, and was a stalwart pioneer in the county’s development. The obituary notes his father William T. Adee was an early pioneer and that all four brothers died earlier.

Funeral services were held yesterday at Spring Valley Congregational church for Mrs Elmer Johnson. Dozens attended from DeKalb and neighboring towns including Mr and Mrs Robert Rollins Mrs Elizabeth Scott Albert Stout and William Morrison. Johnson a longtime DeKalb to Spring Valley freight engineer resigned four months ago to care for his ailing wife. Interment was at the cemetery with Eastern Star aiding. Mrs Johnson survived by her husband a daughter brothers and sisters and many friends.
