Legal ruling upholds Teap ot Dome lease in Sinclair case
Federal Judge T Blake Kennedy ruled the Mammoth Oil lease on the Teapot Dome Naval Reserve in Wyoming valid despite government efforts to nullify it. The decision upheld the legality of Harding era jurisdiction changes and found no improper secrecy in the lease to Sinclair. The ruling ends three years of litigation tied to Fall’s 1920s actions. Bond markets reacted modestly in New York as Sinclair bonds gained three points on the exchange.
