Cortland Man Hurd In Auto Train Collision
Cortland resident Jacob Klein president of the board of trustees and local implement dealer was severely cut and bruised when his car stalled on the North Western tracks near Maple Park after he failed to see or hear an approaching train. The engine struck the rear of his vehicle throwing him clear. Klein was taken to DeKalb hospital for treatment of cuts and bruises, with doctors noting he was fortunate the injuries were not more serious.

Fire crews respond to two alarms in city
Two alarms were answered by the fire department last night. A hollow box elder tree between Eighth and Ninth streets on Lincoln Highway was set afire and quickly extinguished.
