Life ends for Sycamore farmer Henry Batty in apparent suicide
Henry Batty 72 a retired farmer from Sycamore died yesterday afternoon at the Sycamore hospital from self inflicted throat wounds found in the barn at his 123 Center Cross street home. Neighbor Harry Armington found him after Mrs Batty reported the locked front door and searched the residence. Born in England, Batty had suffered years of stomach trouble and after three operations despondency led to the act. He leaves Elizabeth Greenway Batty his wife two daughters Mrs Deloise Welty and Mrs Grant Eddy and a son Clarence. Burial will be at Bennett cemetery Esmond. funeral Wednesday time pending.
