A 1923 check for 2500 dollars payable to Indiana Governor Ed Jackson surfaced in D C Stephenson’s black box. The note claimed it was part of a 10000 dollar contribution to Jackson’s primary expenses, but Jackson’s campaign ledger did not list this money. The Indianapolis Times reported the document and Stephenson’s signature. Governor Jackson refused comment as investigators publicize the matter.
