Malta Man Dies After Long Illness at 31
Landis Jacobs known as Lannie, longtime Malta resident and motoring enthusiast, died about four this morning after a three year battle with diabetes. Born July 11 1888 in Tampico Ill he would have turned 32 three days later. He served in the U S Army from September 5 1917 to April 20 1918. Survived by his mother four sisters and a brother A E Jacobs, with burial at Fairview Cemetery following services at the Malta Methodist Church Sunday at 2 30 led by Rev. A W Otis.

Mine Leaders Sentenced for Strike over Wage Dispute
