Ford Stolen by Two Soldiers Recovered in Rockford
A Ford touring car owned by Frances Fennan, stolen Monday night, was recovered by military authorities in Rockford and turned over to police. Soldiers Walter Carlson and John Edeson, who spent July 1 in DeKalb and could not return to Camp Grant, took the car and used it to reach the camp. They locked the vehicle in a garage and claimed it belonged to Carlson's father. After authorities investigated, the car was returned to its owner through Rockford police and DeKalb officials.

Retired DeKalb County Farmer Dies in Rockford
Peter Teiser a retired farmer of DeKalb county died Monday afternoon at the Swedish American hospital where he had been a patient for a week. He came to Rockford three weeks ago visiting his daughter Mrs M W Kuter. He was born in Germany September 15 1842 and survived by four daughters and a son. Burial will be in Pierceville after funeral services at Hinckley Illinois Thursday at one o'clock.
