Final arrangements for a memorial clock campaign were set at a meeting of the Memorial Clock Fund organization. Mrs. C. F. Clagcott was chosen permanent chair, with 20 city districts and township divisions to be canvassed for 1900 dollars. The clock will cost 2950 with 1050 on hand, four dials, 19 feet high, and tablets honoring DeKalb heroes and service members. E. G. Clark donated a player organ to aid fundraising, to be shown at Lewis & Palmer Music store Saturday.

An investigation is being conducted by the military commander at Tampico. A separate telegram to J Porter notes his son Gabriel Porter was killed by a Mexican officer at the Tuxpan oil field in an accidental shooting. the telegram arrived December 22 and a detailed letter is awaited.

Washington January 8 1919 railroads operated at no loss of about 60 million dollars to the government new statistics from the interstate commerce commission show. The net profits for November were 29 242 530 down from 60 152 379 in November 1918. Railways revenue for November stood at 448 138 834 versus 440 915 188 in 1918. After expenses taxes and unrecovered revenues the government kept a net profit of 29 242 520.
