Dry Agents In This State In A New Scandal
Federal prohibition leaders from New York and Pennsylvania and Illinois dry agents may be called before a federal grand jury over the disappearance of 8,000 cases of bonded whisky valued at $1,000,000 from a government depot in Chicago over seven months. Treasurer Wessel said the liquor, shipped to Pennsylvania and New York, was taken on forged withdrawal permits and may implicate Chicago prohibition agents. Names will be presented to the grand jury soon for investigation.

Fight over gasoline prices sparks Nebraska meeting
Lincoln Nebraska February 23 a meeting of the executive committee of state attorney generals will be held early in March probably in Washington to discuss high gasoline prices. Attorney General Stillman chairman said today a March 6 meeting was postponed. He refused to comment on whether ousting oil companies would be discussed. Lincoln February 29 a pledge to fight to the finish with Standard Oil Indiana and other companies accused in a district report of Omaha of inflating gasoline prices. A general meeting of association officials and the attorney general will be held later to discuss prices from every angle. Oil is the pulse of the world and nation, the attorney general said, and no private interest should gain control.
