Hold Rites On Tuesday For Buck Norton
Funeral services for Frederick Norton known as Buck Norton will be held Tuesday at 2 30 PM from Advent Christian church with burial in Fairview cemetery. The 19 year old son of Mr and Mrs William Norton died Saturday at Glidden hospital after five weeks of illness. Norton a 1927 high school graduate and former football captain was a popular athlete noted for fair play. Pallbearers were football players Leroy Cheney Stewart Cone Roy Swenson Arthur Freeman Willard Vanderveek and Paul Harte. Many students will be excused from school to attend. A floral tribute from the 1927 football team and others arrived. Norton fell ill January 22 and died five weeks later from pneumonia after playing in a basketball game January 21.
