Farm Fire Destroys Barn at Rochelle Canning Farm
Yesterday a costly fire swept through the R. F. Johns farm near Rochelle, part of Mid-West Canneries. The large barn and corn crib owned by Oliver Rainwater burned to the ground, destroying three mules a cow and several chickens along with oats and hay. Levee Break Floods Colusa Area Along Sacramento River
Water rushed through a 250 foot break in the Sacramento river levee near Colusa. Over 15,000 acres of orchard land flooded. Cattle and poultry fled the torrent and were lost. Funeral services for Hayes infant held at noon
Funeral services were conducted for Hayes two month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Hayes of 1206 street. The child died Tuesday afternoon at 4 39 after a lingering illness. Rev L Hammitt of the Methodist church led the services and burial was in Fairvise cemetery. The bereaved family, including two sons and a daughter, mourn their loss.

Bodies Found on Burned Tanker Near Brooklyn New Jersey
Two unidentified bodies were found today on the sunken oil tanker Black at Standam Ou refinery near Monune, New Jersey. The vessel carried about 25 000 gallons of gasoline and refined oil. flames erupted late yesterday as a division occurred. More bodies may be recovered as search crews arrive but the starboard side remained hot, delaying salvage.
