Norfolk Va Feb 21 At least 28 men were killed when the Roma airship exploded over the Army field after its rudder tangled with 2,500 volt lines. Of 38 aboard 10 were rescued. Capt Gale Maybree perished. Navy rescue ships rushed to the scene.
United Press reports in Zurich that Max Oser plans to sell his ivory stable and move to Lake Geneva after marrying Mathilde McCormick, American heiress. Cousin Emil Burgey called at the McCormick mansion to meet the bride and her family, joking about war heroes and hoping for a job.
Friends gathered for the last rites of William Dresser at the Baptial church at 2:30. Odd Fellows pallbearers included active military members. burial followed at Fairview with Rev W R Yard conducting the mixed service.
Riots and gunfire raged in Pawtucket and Blackstone Valley as textile mills faced strikes. Police clashed with workers, two men were killed and many injured. Governor San Souci deployed the state militia to restore order amid widespread tension and marches by striking laborers and local authorities.

The Roma, first American army air fleet dirigible, exploded at about 2:00 p.m. over Hampton Roads after leaving Langley field. Aboard crew of 30, the craft burned as wreckage fell, four bodies recovered and many missing. Navy officials reported rescue efforts and noted the ship had just been refitted with Liberty motors replacing Italian engines.
Members of the DeKalb county Real Estate Board plan another meeting this evening at Edward Johnson’s offices as a followup to Thursday night session. Several important business matters are expected to be brought before the board and the officers hope for full attendance.
