The first Regional Planning Project in Illinois covers about four thousand square miles within fifty miles of Chicago, including Cook Lake Kane Kendall and Will counties and parts of McHenry DeKalb Grundy and Kankakee in Illinois and parts of Kenosha Wisconsin and Lake Porter LaPorte in Indiana. A Regional Planning Association formed under the City Club of Chicago aims to map major features and guide future development across multiple jurisdictions.
