Munson Sentenced to Reformatory One to Twenty Years
Floyd Munson, arrested weeks ago on serious charges, had his parole vacated by State’s Attorney action and was sentenced this morning by Judge Adam C. Cliffe to a term of from one to twenty years in the reformatory. The sentence followed a larceny and illegal entry charge, with Munson having broken parole on two of three prior offenses. War this year will cost the United States 2 593 000 000 according to estimates by Secretary of the Treasury Houston today. Every person of the United States is paying 24.25 per year for war purposes according to Houston's figures, against the per capita for all purposes of 231.93. This leaves 7.68 per citizen for expenditures other than those related to the war. To prepare for future war the United States this year will spend 861 291 000 or about 25 per cent for the total appropriations. Wars of the past will cost about 318 193 375, or about 10 per cent. The great war or present conflict, in which the United States still is technically involved, will cost 1 415 721 083 or about 41 per cent for purposes other that war, there will be left 24 per cent.
