Coal Miners Die In Illinois Mine Accident
Benton February 14 Mike Miller aged 40 was killed and five other workmen were seriously hurt when a heavy coal bank slipped while they were installing new supports at the Franklin County Coal Company mine near Benton. The men were buried almost instantly as timbers gave way. Injuries were mainly broken legs and scalp wounds.
