William Buck 1832 DeKalb pioneer dies at L 619 S First
William Buck a longtime DeKalb county resident died at his son Frederick Buck's home 619 South First Street at 5 this morning after a five year illness. Born April 14 1832 in Vermont he moved to Sycamore in 1857 later farmed near DeKalb Sycamore and returned to the area with his son. He served as a musician in the 106th Illinois Infantry enlisting 1862 and was discharged a year later due to ill health. He leaves two sons Fred A Buck and Frank Buck a granddaughter Viola Buck and his wife Mary Peasley Buck who died three years ago. Burial will be in Sycamore after funeral services at the Universalist church. He was active in the G A R Potter Post of Sycamore.
