William Heid of the Foiles gar age received word that Thomas Reid Sr., a pioneer Aurora settler who built a meat market and then ran a grocery, died in Yonkers N Y after a long illness at age 78. Born in Belfast Ireland he came to Oswego in 1867 and later Aurora, worked 20 years at Burlington railroad shops, retired 20 years ago, and left six sons Samuel Thomas Joseph Frank Ervin and William with three daughters Mary Margaret Mabel. He will be buried in Aurora and funeral arrangements to be announced.
