Woman driver crashes Buick into storefront on Main Street

Alma Beihl, daughter of Mr and Mrs I Michael Beihl of Chicago, is seriously ill in a Chicago hospital where doctors say only surgery can help. She taught in public schools in Chicago after leaving DeKalb, where she and her sisters attended high school and the teachers college. The family lived in DeKalb for years and friends here hope the operation will restore Alma to health soon.

Tragic death reports say Fred Collins, 27, conductor on way freight No. 15 between DeKalb and Nelson, was killed at Rochelle when he slipped under the last truck while closing a switch. He was a Malta native and well known in DeKalb and Malta. Survived by parents Mr and Mrs James Collins, and several relatives. Burial planned for Malta with services in Rochelle.
