City youths at risk while sledding on side streets and Lincoln Highway. Cars struggle to stop for fast moving riders appearing unexpectedly near sidewalks and snow banks. Police will warn children and urge parental cooperation to curb this dangerous activity before more injuries occur.
Mitchell and Frizol dissolve partnership with Bob Frizol selling to Harley Mitchell who will operate ea and Frizol. The battery shop, in business since 1920, to keep the firm name amid many 1924 advertising contracts. Frizol plans a rest and may pursue other opportunities.
Beginning Sunday February 10 the city drug stores will close at noon every Sunday for the rest of the day and close promptly at 8 00 p m on Tuesday and Thursday evenings Emergency calls will be handled at all times Also listed is a booster dance at Odd Fellows hall Saturday night
Cloudy conditions persist tonight with a fair and somewhat colder Sunday ahead. Winds will be fresh and shifting, bringing cooler air across the region.
The Congregational church Men's Club held a second meeting with about members in attendance. Rev. R. Gammon of Chile spoke after dinner on "How to Bring Up Father" and praised fathers guiding their sons. Members expect the organization to grow into a prominent city club with top speakers.
DeKalb opens activities for farmers with a Poultry Show and Farmers Institute to start Monday. Dr. D. Hale and Dr. W. L. Burleson will address topics on poultry products and farm profits. An expected 190+ birds enter the show, with a Tuesday banquet planned at First Lutheran Church feeding 400 to 500 farmers from the area.

Washington viewers report that suits will be filed within ten days to cancel Teapot Dome and California oil leases. Presidential counsel Atlee Pomerene and Silas Strawn indicated the timing hinges on Senate action on their nominations. The push follows allegations of conspiracy involving the Pioneer Oil Company and Harry F. Sinclair.
The Anti-Saloon League state convention concluded a two day session in Chicago with three Dekaippee delegates present. Local delegates were Mr. and Mrs. Rollin Lindgren and Mr. Tikika. Emphasis was on law observance and enforcement and voting right. Delegates urged active civic duty and to vote in the April primaries for public officers supportive of enforcement.
Reverend Hedeen, a state missionary, will preach at the Swedish Baptist Church evening service. His past missionary work is noted as interesting, and tomorrow's discourse is expected to be above average.
The Odd Fellows invite all members to meet at the Odd Fellows hall on Sunday at one o'clock to attend the funeral of their late Brother John Rhutassel. Members with cars are asked to bring men. CHAS SCOTT, Secretary.
Timberlake spoke at Advent Christian church on Heavenly Music from Luke 2 14 noting humanity misses the heavenly song of peace and good will. Chester Millen Sanford, lecturer and educator, addressed misfits and vocation seeking youths at the state college auditorium with follow up conferences for men and women and talks at DeKalb high school.
Professor Burleson of the University of Illinois will be the speaker before the Kiwanis Club Monday at noon. Rotary members and Chamber of Commerce affiliates have been invited and reservations must be in by tonight, phone 188.
Bert Foster is reported to be improving after three weeks in Gutidens hospital. Within days he is expected to return to his familiar duties at the post office, resuming his work after a period of illness.
February shipments from the Apollo plant exceed expectations with 15 days of strong carload and custom instrument orders. The factory runs full force, unusual for a typically quiet month. Public sale at Moriarty farm scheduled for Feb 5, runs until Feb 11.

A portrait by Ralph Clarkson will be unveiled. a copy was prepared after efforts to borrow the DeKalb school painting. Professor R. E. Hieronymous of the University of Illinois will give the principal address, with a banquet to conclude the day.
Henry Groves reports high snow drifts south of DeKalb near the Culbertson Brothers farm hindered travel. One or two autos and even a team struggled to pass after about two hours of shoveling. Drifts are again forming in many areas, reducing Sunday joy rides.
The New York Anti Saloon League board accepted the resignation of William H. Anderson state superintendent after a forgery sentence. Dr Bathelow said no replacement had been chosen yet. A special notice also announces regular theatre times following amalgamation of The New DeKalb Princess and Star theatres with showings unchanged.
In Herrin and Carbondale Illinois, Sheriff George Galligan of Williamson county is arrested on a murder charge connected to the shooting of Klan leader Caesar Cagle. A hospital fire exchange left deputy John Layman wounded, sparking martial law talk as Illinois guards prepare to quell rioting.
