The high school band under FE Chenette received high praise for a fine afternoon program. Marion Whittaker and Betty Wirtz impressed on vibra-harp with “Somewhere a Voice Is Calling” as Willard Palmer and Willis Smith offered standout solos. The concert closed with Lampe’s Home Sweet Home the World Over, a rarely heard finish, as the band’s members performed a wide range of instruments from clarinets to trombone and drums.

Children Die In Farm House Fire At Hammond's Corners
In Conneaut Ohio on February 3 a fire destroyed a farm home at Hammond's Corners ten miles south of the city. Two children were burned to death and a mother Mary Yulas and a son were slightly injured while trying to rescue them. The bodies had not been recovered at noon.
