Wendell Lindbers Killed in France at Twenty Six
Wendell Lindbers, 26, of DeKalb, son of Mr and Mrs G Lindbers, died in action in France while serving with the 126th Infantry. A 1915 DeKalb Normal graduate, he had a notable wartime record including escape from peril, training as an officer candidate, and a rapid rise to first lieutenant before his death on October 12. He left behind his wife and two children, plus siblings and grieving relatives.
