A Packard owned by Harry Holze of Hampshire was damaged about 11000 when it veered into a ditch near Cortland corners yesterday noon. No one was injured. The driver avoided a head on collision with a car driven by Mr. Triton of Elgin, who was attempting to pass a Ford driven by Mr. Lee of this city. State patrol officers say a collision would have occurred if the Packard had not left the road.

Police hunted a unknown man after the murder of Charles Hundley 73 a former mayor and his wife in Carbondale Newfoundland last night.
