Kemball-Cook Named New Shell President
New York Shell announces Denis F R Kemball Cook Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer will succeed Richard McCurdy as President and CEO. McCurdy to retire by year end. Cook, 59, began in 1932 in Manchester NH and rose through exploration, manufacturing, and operating roles to COO since 1968. The COO post will not be filled.

Major Accident at Hwy 225 and Tidal Road
A major accident occurred Monday at 6 30 p m involving one vehicle. Vernon Lee Jordan of Pasadena drove a 62 Ford east when an unknown vehicle stopped at a red light. He swerved hitting two telephone poles causing 200 damage to the car. Wesley Jordan, a one year old passenger, was taken to Pasadena General Hospital with abrasions and minor bruises. Officer Thomas Franklin charged the driver with failure to control speed to avoid accident.
