San Jacinto College Joins Southeast Texas Communications Network

San Jacinto College selected to join a massive network linking 30 Southeast Texas counties. The Southeast Texas Information Network Assn will run a multi channel two way system with closed circuit TV linking classrooms libraries and computer facilities. Program access includes video tapes and air or taped viewing from member colleges. Operation is set to begin September 1969.

Manpower Training Yields Jobs for SIC Graduates

Vivian Hogue and 18 other women graduate from a Manpower Development Training Act project at San Jacinto College. Participants, chosen by the Texas Employment Commission, qualify for stenographer roles paying 350 to 425 dollars monthly. Nine have secured jobs. ten return for placement assistance.

Texas Senate Commends Wieser for Heroic Rescue

W C Wieser assistant chief of the Deer Park Volunteer Department received a Texas Senate commendation for saving an infant during an accident. The resolution, by Senator Chet Brooks, notes his mouth to mouth resuscitation and chest massage en route to the hospital. Deer Park officials recently honored him with a Certificate of Merit.

Mas Dorrio Study In Europe

Miss Margaret A. Dorris daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles A Dorris 909 Marlene will study at the Vienna center of the Institute of European Studies.
