Revival Services Led by Visiting Evangelist in Pearland

Shorrosh, a former Jerusalem pastor and missionary worker, returned to America in 1967 and now lives in Mobile. He plans a six month India tour and a revival with Sonny Steed leading worship and Dr Jimmie Nelson welcoming attendees at the First Baptist Church Pearland.

Wake Up Sunshine Arranged by DPHS Grad Played by Marines

L Cpl Robin Sutton a 1969 Deer Park High School graduate and member of the Quantico Marine Base Stage Band performed an arrangement of Wake Up Sunshine in the Summer Concert Series at Quantico Va His parents are Mr and Mrs J E Sutton of Pasadena Sutton who will be discharged January 10 1972 joined the Marines in 1970 and played baritone in high school with DPHS All State Band Regional Choir and Symphonic Band under John Wiley

Unwelcome Skunk Invades Deer Park Home

The Beach family at 214 W Vaughn Deer Park endured about a week with a skunk in their attic after a mousetrap failed to trap it. Neighbors and firemen assisted but the animal avoided capture until Thursday noon when Mr Beach found it still with the trap on its neck. Officials hope for no repeat. Also announced is the second annual Texas Rice Festival to be held on Broadway Winnie on Oct 2 to promote Southeast Texas civic welfare and rice production.
