Houston hospital decision process discussed at hearing
The hearing reviewed criteria for hospital need in Deer Park and surrounding areas. Projections, use rate, and a 75 percent occupancy factor guide HGAC and state agencies in approving facilities, with a 60 day HEW reply rule and calls for yearly data updates. Public hearings may adjust outside criteria. Houston Hospital Council seeks postponement.
