Hall Wins Run Off In Deer Park City Council Race
Walter Dean Hall defeated incumbent Stanley W. Young 486 to 344 to win Position No. 3 on the Deer Park City Council. Hall, an operator with Lubrizol Corp., polled 339 votes in Precinct 84 and 147 in 51, while Young had 251 in 84 and 93 in 51. The oath of office was administered by Mayor W. E. Black after polls closed. Mayor Black and the council praised Young for six years of service.

Kronin Indicted for Embezzlement and Jailed in Houston
Patrick J. Kronin former Deer Park director of finance was indicted on embezzlement charges and jailed in Harris County Texas on a $20,000 bond. Detective Roy E. Davis reported Kronin admitted the crime during questioning and expressed remorse saying he aimed to repay what was stolen. Kronin forged an $11,060 check and was arrested in Columbus Ohio hours after losing his embezzled funds betting on horse races.
