Be wary of bad tax advisers in 1969 filings
James H. Bandy, administrative officer of Internal Revenue, warns taxpayers to select qualified advisors for 1969 income tax returns. Avoid experts who disappear after filing, never sign blank or pencil prepared returns, beware guarantees of refunds or fees based on a percentage, and do not mail refund checks to the preparer's address. A professional adviser must sign the return and provide a name and address.
