Shell to expand Deer Park plant capacity for normal butyl alcohol
Shell Chemical plans a 30 percent expansion at its Houston Deer Park plant to boost normal butyl alcohol production by late 1975. The project, a multi million dollar effort, will also yield Isobutyl Alcohol and two Ethyl Hexanols. Shell aims to meet demand for oxidized chemicals and coating formulations complying with air pollution rules.

San Jac Prepares For Drill Workshop
Dorothy Brown of San Jacinto College chairs the fourth annual drill workshop to be held July 8 12 at the college. The event offers entrances and exits stand routines high kick jazz marching and pom pom work with ribbons and trophies for individuals and schools. Tyler’s Dale Robins returns as choreographer for twirling contests. Workshop runs 8:30 am 4 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:30 am to 1 pm Friday with a $25 fee including lunch. Deer Park Public Library Opens Busy Summer Program
The Deer Park Public Library reports 440 children registered for the summer reading program and a record June 18 with 979 total circulations. Three Deer Park High School graduates join staff, while Sam Houston State University interns train in all facets of library service this summer.
