Deer Park Emergency Corps Responds to Fires and Accidents
Between July 4 and July 10 the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Corps handled two first aid calls and eight fire alarms. Incidents included a car-truck crash on Underwood Rd at Pasadena Blvd with injuries, a possible stroke. several small grass fires in Brookglen Addition and near Norwood and Durant St. accidental alarms at a church on Spencer Hwy. an ammonia leak check in Dutch. aid to Pearsal Chemical Co. on Strange Rd for exhaust duct fire. and a dumpster fire on July 10.

Kent Heads Pacific Deployment From Deer Park Marine
Private First Class David K. Kent, son of Mr and Mrs Robert D Kent of Deer Park Texas, has departed for extended duty with BLT 3-9 in Okinawa. The unit forms the ground element of a MAU for the Seventh Fleet and will train at Camp Fuji Japan during the cruise. Kent is a 1976 Deer Park High School graduate who joined the Marine Corps in July 1976.
