Secretaries Win National Educational Standards Awards
Kitty Brelsford, Audrey Bailey, Katy Kelley and Sylvia Phillips of the Deer Park Independent School District are named among educational secretaries nationwide earning Professional Standards Certificates from the National Association of Educational Secretaries. Certificates will be awarded July 11, 1974, at the Astroworld Hotel in Houston Texas, as part of the association's conference.

The Houston Postal District willCentralize Outgoing Mail processing from Pasadena to the Houston Mail Processing Center starting Sunday Sept 1 1974. Deer Park zip codes 775 enter the Houston hub as part of a national mechanization plan to speed delivery and cut costs. E C Stevenson district manager notes the move will not cut any jobs, though about 125 Pasadena workers shift to Houston with temporary inconveniences as new duties are assigned under labor agreements.

Houston vital statistics registrar H B Bud Garrett announced the City Hall birth and death certificate copy service will end. Beginning Monday July 8, certified copies must be obtained at the health department building 1115 North MacGregor.
