Grads Compile $165000 In College Aid
Fifty seven graduates of the class of 1975 received over $155,000 in scholarships and grants reported by Superintendent Lebron B. Williams. Regents OK Ten Million Budget for San Jacinto College
The San Jacinto College Board approved the 1975 76 budget totaling 10 413 177 79 at a Monday meeting with President Dr Thomas Spencer presenting at a public hearing. State funds total 5 413 869, federal 124 154 62, local taxes 1 919 414 74, tuition and fees 1 595 885 65, and campus sales 39 555 91. The increase over last year accounts for cost of living raises and higher utilities. A 20 cent per 100 valuation tax levy was set, and Carl Smith and Sherwood Blair were named tax collectors assessors. The board also approved four tennis courts at the north channel campus for 44 859, bids for a state funded student training program about 53 000, and bids totaling 12 519 50 for automotive and office clerical training equipment. Drake Printing won the bid to print 10 000 fall student handbooks for 4 025. Dr Lehr presented gym locker bids for the north campus.
