Marchers Raise 650 For March of Dimes in Deer Park
Deer Park Ladies Civic Club sponsored the Mothers March of Dimes on January 21 with many volunteers helping beyond the date. Total raised to date is 650.22, down from 853.35 in 1968 due to fewer areas covered, with special thanks to area lieutenants, adult marchers, teenage helpers, and local businesses for support and facilities.

Deer Park Council approves curfew and dog ordinances
The Deer Park council on second reading enacted a curfew barring minors under 18 from streets after 11 30 p m on weeknights and after 1 a m on weekends before holidays unless accompanied by a parent. A stricter dog control ordinance was also approved, covering licensing inoculations and enforcement. Public input cited vandalism and drinking. a rezoning request was rejected with a workshop set for next week. The meeting also endorsed bridge construction funding for Ship Channel at Outer Belt Highway.
