The Deer Park Chamber of Commerce welcomed a new slate of directors during its annual installation banquet last January, including optometrist Dr. M. L. Harger who is in his second year on the board.
Don Riley named first manager of the Deer Park Chamber of Commerce after a chamber reorganization. A Deer Park resident for three years, he lives at 4210 Ember Street with wife Betty and their two sons John and Joe. He previously worked with Wichita area credit unions and most recently as construction superintendent for W. D. Lawther Builder while remaining chamber manager. Dr. Harger opened a Town Plaza optometrist office in 1968, is a Monterey High graduate, UH optometry graduate, and Deer Park Rotary Club member, residing at 766 West Park Town Drive with Jolene.
Glen Tolar, native of Deer Park, will be installed Friday January 22 as the new vice president of the Deer Park organization. A 1954 Deer Park High School graduate, he owns an auto supply shop at 214 X Street and previously served on the board in the 1960s. He and his wife Patricia have three children and live at 220 X Street.
