Deer Park Receives Monthly Sales Tax Refund
A check for 24930.27 arrived to Deer Park as the city's December sales tax funds. State Comptroller Bob Bullock mailed the refunds Jan 1. The rebates, sent monthly to the cities, reflect sales tax collected within Deer Park. Bullock said 1976 state and city tax collections rose over 16 percent with further growth expected.

Watson Named Vice Chairman of Labor and Environmental Panels
Rep. Ed Watson of Deer Park was named vice chairman for Appropriative Matters of the Labor Committee by House Speaker Bill Clayton. Donald Clifton McMillan Sr., 49, of 810 Phyllis Deer Park, died Friday January 15 1977. He belonged to Deer Park Masonic Lodge No 3162 AF and AM. Survived by wife Joan and daughter Shelley Jo both of Deer Park. sons Donald McMillan Sr of Houston John Paul and David Drew McMillan of Deer Park. mother Katie McMillan of Paducah Texas. sisters Mrs Johnnie Benger Tucson Ariz Mrs G W Park Pandeah Tex and Mrs Dorothea Smith Denver Colo. two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services were 10 a.m. Monday January 17 at Deer Park United Methodist Church with Revs Leslie Griffin and Joe Jones officiating. Masonic graveside at Grandview Cemetery.
