Visible Woman Fiddler Sheila Wins Hearts At Contest
Sixteen year old Sheila Morley of Covina Calif took third in the 13th Annual Old fashioned Fiddler's Contest at Death Valley California encampment. The relaxed starry night event featured performers like Chappy Red Dude Speed and Sheila among colorful names. Sheila, in a white picture frame hat and long blue dress, began fiddling four years ago after hearing a family friend play. The format allowed free selection of tunes, including Wabash Cannonball and Turkey in the Straw, with judges rewarding showmanship as well as skill.
