VA loosens proof rules for birth and marriage documents
The Veterans Administration announced new rules allowing informal proof for benefits claims. Since Oct 27, certified statements of marriage or birth are acceptable when parties meet conditions and VA records do not contradict. The change covers compensation pension dependency indemnity education and for widows and orphans.
