New Year Festivities and Local Traditions in Deer Park
Deer Park residents welcomed the New Year with music from Auld Lang Syne. The Fire Department Dance at the Recreation Building sold most tickets, promising a successful event. Families planned quiet holidays with black-eyed peas and ham and cornbread. Local youngsters discussed the tradition, hoping for prosperity in the year ahead. Mr and Mrs John Wiley planned a trip to Fort Worth then Bonham to visit relatives including four daughters.
