Drainage Project Underway in Deer Park
County Commissioner Jamie H Bray announced that a much needed drainage project will start within 45 days in Deer Park. All right of way for Center St Outfall Ditch is secured beginning at Center St, stretching 1,893 feet east to a 60 foot drainage easement. The ditch right of way is 80 feet. The County will buy the pipe while the Flood Control District will dig the ditch and install the pipe.

Fireworks ban warned by Deer Park Fire Marshal
Deer Park Fire Marshal M L Ritter warned residents that possessing or firing fireworks on Labor Day could lead to arrest and fines from $15 to $200. The ordinance prohibiting shooting fireworks is in Article 13 of Deer Park’s Fire Prevention code. Citizens were urged to heed the warning.

Services were held Saturday August 22 at 2 p.m. for Bobby Joe Barnes 40 of 3429 Pine Lane Deer Park who died August 25 in a Houston hospital. He taught auto mechanic at the high school since 1967 and belonged to the DFA/DEER Park Masonic Lodge 1362 and Nazarene church. He is survived by his wife two sons a daughter and his parents. Burial was at Forest Park East Cemetery. Services were under Deer Park Masonic Lodge 1362 AF and AM.
