Incumbent Young in runoff after city precinct vote
Election totals show Young with 702 votes for Position 3, Hall 528, and Kowalik 386 across precincts 84 and 51. A runoff between Young and Hall will occur 30 days after the election with official canvassing and swearing in at 7:30 pm Thursday at City Hall before the City Council meeting.

Rangerettes win twirling contest in Deer Park
Recreation Rangerettes competed in a Deer Park twirling contest on Saturday March 27 with Kim Malone and Dana Escobedo earning first place solos. Cookie Noah Debbie Muecke and Raenell Barganski won second place solos and Dixie Merritt took third. All three duets from the group won first place. Duet entrants were Kim Malone with Pam Douglas Cookie Noah with Dixie Merritt and Dana Esenbede with Debbie Muecke. They are taught by Glenda Reininger. Also announced Evening Spanish classes start April 20 at Pasadena Community Evening School from 6 to 8 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays for six sessions costing $12.
