W H Williams chief clerk in the revenue department has completed adjusting the state property taxable values as ordered by the state executive council. The total taxable value of the state's property excluding moneys and credits is 47 406 539 growing from 20 20 000 92 in 1914, an increase of 44 Slides. The moneys and credits this year total 270 506 356 versus 250 218 478 a year ago.

W H Williams reports Iowa per capita taxable wealth up $46.08 in the last year under 1915 readjusted assessments. Per capita wealth stands at 1825.01, with total wealth listed at 4,060,132,015 and moneys and credits at 270,506,350. State tax levy for 1916 reduced from 4.9 to 4.5 mills, saving nearly 509,000 versus direct taxation this year.

Governor Clarke to call special suffrage election in Iowa

Mrs. Frank Dodson, state suffrage campaign manager, announced at the state convention at the Savery hotel that Governor George W. Clarke will issue a call for a special suffrage election sixty days before the June primaries to safeguard the amendment vote. She said this move prevents defeat on technical grounds and aids the vigorous campaign to make suffrage legal.
